【摘要】:Theabilityofsinteredpowdermetallurgystainlesssteelparts/specimenstoresistcorrosionwhenimmersedinsodiumchloridesolutionisimportanttotheirenduse.Causesofunacceptablecorrosionmaybeincorrectalloy,contaminationofthepartsbyironorsomeothercorrosion-promotingmaterialorimpropersinteringoftheparts(forexample,undesirablecarbideandnitrideformationscausedbypoorlubricantburnofforimpropersinteringatmosphere).ThisstandardmaybepartofapurchaseagreementbetweenthePMpartsproducer(seller)andtheuseroftheparts(purchaser)(Method1).Itmayalsobeusedtooptimizepartorspecimenproductionparameters(Method2).1.1ThesetestmethodscoveraprocedureforevaluatingtheabilityofsinteredPMstainlesssteelparts/specimenstoresistcorrosionwhenimmersedinasodiumchloride(NaCl)solution.1.2Corrosionresistanceisevaluatedbyoneoftwomethods.InMethod1,thestainlesssteelparts/specimensareexaminedperiodicallyandthetimetothefirstappearanceofstainingorrustisusedtoindicatetheendpoint.InMethod2,continuedexposuretothesodiumchloridesolutionisusedtomonitortheextentofcorrosionasafunctionoftime.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
