【摘要】:1.1Thispracticedescribesprocedurestodeterminetheloadresistanceofspecifiedglasstypes,includingcombinationsofglasstypesusedinasealedinsulatingglassunit,exposedtoauniformlateralloadofshortorlongduration,foraspecifiedprobabilityofbreakage.1.2Thispracticeappliestoverticalandslopedglazinginbuildingsforwhichthespecifieddesignloadsconsistofwindload,snowloadandself-weightwithatotalcombinedmagnitudelessthanorequalto10kPa(210psf).Thispracticeshallnotapplytootherapplicationsincluding,butnotlimitedto,balustrades,glassfloorpanels,aquariums,structuralglassmembersandglassshelves.1.3Thispracticeappliesonlytomonolithic,laminated,orinsulatingglassconstructionsofrectangularshapewithcontinuouslateralsupportalongone,two,threeorfouredges.Thispracticeassumesthat(1)thesupportedglassedgesfortwo,threeandfoursidedsupportconditionsaresimplysupportedandfreetoslipinplane(2)glasssupportedontwosidesactsasasimplysupportedbeam,and(3)glasssupportedononesideactsasacantilever.1.4Thispracticedoesnotapplytoanyformofwired,patterned,etched,sandblasted,drilled,notchedorgroovedglasswithsurfaceandedgetreatmentsthataltertheglassstrength.1.5Thispracticeaddressesonlythedeterminationoftheresistanceofglasstouniformlateralloads.Thefinalthicknessandtypeofglassselectedalsodependsuponavarietyofotherfactors(see5.3).1.6Chartsinthispracticeprovideameanstodetermineapproximatemaximumlateralglassdeflection.AppendixX1andAppendixX2provideadditionalprocedurestodeterminemaximumlateraldeflectionforglasssimplysupportedonfoursides.AppendixX3presentsaproceduretocomputeapproximateprobabilityofbreakageforannealedmonolithicglasslitessimplysupportedonfoursides.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.ForconversionofquantitiesinvarioussystemsofmeasurementstoSIunitsrefertoSI10.1.8AppendixX4liststhekeyvariablesusedincalculatingthemandatorytypefactorsinTables1-3andcommentsontheirconservativevalues.1.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
